Caramel Hedgehogs

Caramel Hedgehogs

These are the most delicious little treat you will ever make, and are just as easy!!

WARNING:  These are messy to make, and you will not be able to eat only one!! :)

Ingredients:

1 bag Marshmallows
1 bag caramels (I like the unwrapped caramel bits=EASIER!)
1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 box crispy rice cereal

Extras:
Small crock-pot
Plastic crock-pot liners (You will be glad you used it!)
Wax Paper

Directions:

Start by putting your plastic liner in your crock pot and turning it on high.

Unwrap all of your caramel squared, or if you are like me and took the easy route, pour your caramel bits into the crock pot.

Pour the entire can of sweetened condensed milk over caramel and stir together.

Let this sit and melt, stirring occasionally.  Once it is melted, go ahead and turn the heat down to low on the crock pot to avoiding burning the caramel and your fingers!

While you wait for the caramel to melt together, pour some crispy rice cereal in a large bowl.

Dunk your marshmallow in the caramel and completely coat the entire thing.  You can either use a fork to move it around, or skewer the marshmallow with a wooden dowel and dunk!

Once completely coated, roll the marshmallow in the crispy rice cereal coating the entire thing again.

Place your completed marshmallow on a piece of wax paper, and keep going until all your caramel is gone!  Trust me, you are going to need to make a ton, and they will still go fast!

I have found that is a little bit easier to have 1 person dunking in caramel and 1 person rolling in the cereal.  It goes faster and makes things more fun!

Enjoy these little bits of heaven!!
